Sphere of Availability

Have you ever tried to use the Law of Attraction and found it simply didn't work for you?  Have you ever tried visualizing really hard for what you want, used good, positive affirmations for it, and still found it never materialized?

There can be many different reasons for not being able to materialize a desire.  The problem is not with the Law of Attraction, which works, but with the way in which you are applying it.

I have covered some of those reasons in other blog articles, but here I am going to cover a Universal Law many Law of Attraction coaches do not mention at all, gloss over, or even downright deny it exists - the Law of the Sphere of Availability.

We are taught not to set limits to our desires, that the Universe has no limits and neither should we.  We are told that the only limits on what we can achieve are the limits we set ourselves.

This is all very true.  There ARE no limits to what the Universe can bring to us.  Universal power is unlimited power.  The limits appear only when that unlimited power tries to express itself through a limited being.

I do not disagree with any of this.  In fact, I teach this myself.  But it is still important to understand and apply the Law of the Sphere of Availability, which seems to contradict everything I have just said above.

First, what is the Law of the Sphere of Availability?  It is a Universal Law that defines what is readily available to you and what is not.

If the Universe is unlimited, how come there is a Universal Law that creates limits on what you can achieve?

One way of looking at this is as the exception that proves the rule.  The Universe has no limits, but we do.  Self-created limits.  Limits we could do something to remove or at least stretch further, but nevertheless real limits that we have to recognize exist.  As long as a limit is there, it is pointless trying to ignore it.

Let me give you an example.  Suppose you want a 5 bedroom house, but at the moment are living with your parents and have no capital or income.  Is the 5 bedroom house within your Sphere of Availability?  If you are like most people, I would say no, it is not within your Sphere of Availability.  It may be that you are so gifted in your use of the Law of Attraction that it IS within your Sphere of Availability, but this would be extremely unusual.  It would make sense in this case to go for something more realistic.

At this point there will probably be Law of Attraction coaches and practitioners screaming at me, telling me not to add to the problem by making people believe there are limits.  Well, there ARE limits!  As I have said, there are ways of removing some limits completely and expanding the Sphere of Availability for others.  But until that is done, those limits are there and we have to respect this.

Work within your own Sphere of Availability.  Have big dreams, and visualize and affirm for those big dreams.  But also work on dreams that are within your current Sphere of Availability.  These will be much easier to achieve, and those early successes will encourage you.  They will also expand your Sphere of Availability, so you can now begin manifesting bigger dreams.  This expansion of your Sphere of Availability happens in two ways.

Firstly, having acquired or achieved something, this has hopefully brought you closer to your big dream.  For example, the person who was living with his parents and with no income uses the Law of Attraction to get a job.  He now has income, and so he starts to visualize for his own apartment.  When he gets that, then his dream of a 5 bedroom house is very much closer and may now even be within his Sphere of Availability.

Secondly, the small successes make you realize that the Law of Attraction really does work.  This now makes it easier for you to use it for bigger dreams than you could have used it for earlier.  Perhaps not your really big dream yet, but certainly bigger dreams.

Put both of these together and you will find you can expand your Sphere of Availability quicker than you might have thought possible.

Ultimately there ARE no limits.  You ARE worth far more than you give yourself credit for.  You CAN achieve your biggest dreams.  But use your knowledge of the Sphere of Availability properly so that you really CAN get there rather than trying to manifest only "unrealistic" goals and then complaining that the Law of Attraction doesn't work!  As the old adage goes "learn to walk before you run" - but notice it DOESN'T say "you can only walk, so don't ever bother trying to run"!

Limitless

No, this is not a blog about the 2011 film, or the follow-up 2015 television series.

I guess, though you could say those fictional entertainments share one thing with what I am about to say.  That is that none of us is using even a fraction of the power we have within us.

I am not talking about the unused fraction of our brains though, a fraction that is often stated to be nine tenths.  Particularly because most scientists would completely disagree that we only use 10% of our brain.  Those scientists say that we do actually use all of our brain, but that there is a lot of deliberate redundancy there.  So, depending on exactly where in the brain you do this, you may be able to cut out one part of the brain and still not lose any mental capacity.

I am not talking about the brain, which is physical, but I AM talking about the mind, which is not physical.  Some believe the mind is entirely based in the brain and is simply our experience of electrical activity in the brain.  I do not believe this.  I believe our mind is a spark of the Divine mind.  The power of the entire universe is within the mind.  It would be difficult to imagine this if the mind were simply electrical activity in the brain, as there would be clear physical limits.  If you believe you have no soul and when this life is extinguished so are you, then you may continue to believe that your mind is contained within the brain, and is in fact just a reflection of the electrical impulses passing through the brain.  But if, like me, you believe there is more to life than this, then you also believe that some part of you, whether you call it your mind, your soul, your spirit, or all three, is not constrained by the physical limits of the brain.  It is no big step from that belief to a belief that there is a Universal mind, which is limitless.

Jung touched on this a little when he wrote about the collective unconscious.  Our conscious mind is only the surface of a vast unconscious mind.  The conscious mind seems to be individual and separate, but the collective unconscious is what it says - collective.  It belongs to all of us.  Within it are "archetytpes", or universal symbols we all recognize and to which we all react in a similar way.  In some societies those archetypes are expressed as the gods, with a lower case "g".  Followers of the monotheist semitic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) either do not believe in these "gods", or believe they are evil, but this is really a misunderstanding of what they really are - archetypes.

Think of this collective unconscious as an ocean.  You can dive deeper and deeper in this ocean.  The deeper you dive the wider you find it becomes.  At shallower depths it may encompass only the unconscious mind of one part of mankind, but as you go deeper it includes the unconscious mind of the entire human race throughout the whole of time.  Eventually, if you were able to keep diving, you would find yourself face to face with God, not "gods".  Because in its entirety it IS God.

I have used the word God here, but if you prefer you can call it the Universe.  It is the collective unconscious of the Universe.  The entire power of the Universe is here.  And "here" is the depths of your unconscious mind.

Intellectually this is not something you can "know".  There is no scientific proof I can give you, because this kind of thinking is not subject to scientific proof.  You can neither prove this to be right nor to be wrong.  But it is something you can intuitively know.  Not through study, but just through convincement.  It is something that you will just "know" when you are ready for that knowledge.  An article such as this may bring you to that state, not through logical analysis, but rather as a catalyst.

When you know that the entire power of the Universe is deep within your mind (your mind, not your brain!) you will also know that you really are limitless.  Not like Eddie Morra in the film "Limitless"; despite the title he was still limited to a degree.  But the power of the Universe has no limits at all.  The Universe is limitless - and so are you!

Abundance Thinking and Limitation

What does the word "abundance" mean to you?

For far too many people it means something that doesn't exist.  They believe in limitation rather than abundance.  They believe there is a limited supply of everything and that we must either compete and even fight with others to gain whatever it is we want, or we must accept that because there is a limited supply we must limit ourselves, not try to get everything we want, and that if we do anything different we are greedy.

For many things that we want it is simply illogical to believe in any limitation.  Take happiness, for example.  Is there a limited supply of happiness in the universe?  Really?  Why on earth should there be?  There are no limits to happiness.  Yes, things can happen which impact on our happiness, although there are always ways of controlling that impact.  But there is certainly not a limited supply of happiness, and it would be entirely illogical to believe there was.  Yet so many people behave in a way that shows they subconsciously believe there is a limited supply.  They don't believe it is right to want to be happy when so many people in the world are sad.  Why?  If you choose to be sad too does that reduce the sadness of people around you?  No, of course not!  In fact, just the opposite.  Happiness can be contagious, so by developing and nurturing happiness in yourself you can also spread happiness in the world.  Isn't that a good thing to do?  There are no limits to happiness.  There is an abundance of happiness in the world.

Or how about love?  Is that limited?  Of course not!  If you are looking for love, then don't go around believing it is limited.  Are you looking for your life partner, for someone who will love you without limit and whom you can love without limit?  But have you started to believe that perhaps there is no such person?  Or were you looking for a group of friends you can really love without limits and who will really love you without limits, and then gave up at some point because you felt this would never materialize?  There are no limits to love.  There is an abundance of love in the world.  Open your heart to it and allow that abundance to manifest within your life.

On a more practical level, many people today are concerned about limited resources in the world.  There are limited amounts of raw materials.  There are limits on the amount of energy we can produce without depleting resources for future generations and destroying mother earth.  At least there is more logic in this thinking.  It is true we have over exploited many of the earth's resources and continue to do so.  It is good to look at your carbon footprint and try to find ways to reduce it so you are causing less damage to the world in which you live.  But ultimately, in the future, is there a true limit here or is there a hidden abundance for which we simply have to find the key?  I believe it is the latter.  So does eminent scientist Peter Diamond, a medically qualified space scientist and engineer who graduated from both MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Harvard Medical School, and who co-founded the International Space University and the Singularity University.  Peter Diamond believes in abundance even in the area of energy and resources.  He believes mankind has the ability to find ways around the limitations we see today and create an abundant future.  Check out his books "Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think", and only just published on 23rd February 2016 "BOLD: How to Go Big, Create Wealth, and Impact the World".  In the universe there is an abundance of energy and resources.  We just have to find ways to unlock that abundance.

Another practical area where far too many people believe in limitation is that of money.  Again, the prevailing belief, which is completely wrong, is that there is a limited supply of money, and that it is evil to want lots of money as you will then be depriving others of the money they need.  This is nonsense!  If you really want to become wealthy the best way of doing so is not to take wealth that belongs to others but to help others achieve what they want to achieve.  Doing this is the best way of becoming really wealthy, and it is also very ethical.  You are not taking wealth away from others but becoming wealthy by helping others.  Zig Ziglar said "You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want."  He was not just talking about wealth here, but certainly this applies very much to wealth.  There is no limitation to wealth.  Wealth is abundant.

Whatever it is you want, recognize it is here in the universe in abundance.  There are no limits.  Only the limits you have created in your own mind.  Break the shackles of those blocks you have created and claim the abundance that is waiting there for you.  Claim it, and at the same time share that abundance with others.  Your own life will be far better and so will the lives of your family, friends, and others around you.

Limitations

Do you have any limitations?  If so, what are they, where did they come from and are you bothered about them?

I guess you probably answered "yes" to that first question.  We all have limitations of one degree or another.

Some limitations are there for a very good reason.  These are the ones I would call "moral limits".  I have clear moral limits.  Boundaries I will not cross no matter what.  These are limits I have set myself.  Some I "inherited" or learned in early childhood.  Others I have chosen over the years.  I am sure you have moral limits too - I certainly hope so.

Notice, though, I said "these are limits I have set myself".  They are not imposed on me.  I do not allow any organization or any other person to define those limits.  They are my limits.  Maybe they DID originally come from outside, but I have thought about and questioned each one to be certain it belongs.

But what about other limitations?  Not moral limits, but limits that prevent you achieving what you want to achieve in life.  Do you have any of those?

Probably the answer is "yes" again.  But this time you should recognize that these limits do not belong in your life and you do not have to accept them.  As long as you DO accept them they will continue to stop you achieving your goals.  But accepting them is your choice.  And if you wish, you can refuse to accept them any more and remove those barriers to happiness, wealth, freedom, and whatever else it is you desire.

I am not saying this will be easy.  Most things in life worth having require effort.  I am not saying you will immediately see there can be an answer.  For many limitations it seems it is impossible to remove the shackles.  What I AM saying is that if you look for a way to remove them you will eventually find that way.

If you have said "no, I have no limitations", great!  But I suggest you dig deep within and make sure you are not simply hiding the limitations that are really there.  Take some time to sit quietly and you may be surprised what arises.  If you find some, then treat them exactly the way I have indicated above.

We are all children of the Universe, and the Universe is entire within us, in all its power.  Embrace that power and use it to shatter the shackles of unnecessary limitations.  Resolve today to break through and begin achieving your goals!
